YOUR ROLE

Catalisto’s development team design and deliver a broad range of technical programs that enhance the cybersecurity capabilities of individuals, organizations, and industries.  Programs range from technical training, mentoring and research programs, to market and solution research, evaluation and systems integration programs.  Our focus is to provide technology leaders, including CIOs, CTOs, CISO, and CDOs, with insights to help them secure their most critical infrastructure and assets.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer with a strong focus on cyber security to join our team to integrate cyber security solutions for client needs. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and integrating secure network infrastructures to safeguard critical infrastructure operator digital assets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of network systems while proactively identifying and mitigating potential cyber threats.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, configure, and implement secure network solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and other relevant technologies.

  • Collaborate with the information security team to develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities, analyze logs, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.

  • Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses and recommend remediation strategies.

  • Stay current with emerging cyber security threats, trends, and technologies to ensure the network remains resilient against evolving risks.

  • Implement access controls and authentication mechanisms to ensure authorized personnel have appropriate access levels.

  • Work closely with network administrators to ensure proper network segmentation and isolation of critical assets.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the network infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to assess security products and services, making recommendations for procurement when necessary.

  • Provide technical support to resolve security-related network issues and incidents.

  • Document network security architecture, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a strong plus.

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on cyber security, including designing and implementing secure network solutions.

  • Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.

  • Experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software, and other cyber security tools.

  • Familiarity with network monitoring and logging tools to detect and respond to security incidents.

  • Proficiency in network and security concepts, including encryption, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with cloud envronments preferred

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (eg ISO27001, GDPR) and their impact on network security is a plus.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (eg Python, PowerShell) for automation and security tasks.

  • Must speak and write Albanian and English fluently

  • Ability to thrive in stressed, ever changing environments

  • Ability to travel as required (up to 25%)

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • A positive attitude, willing to jump in and tackle new challenges with creativity and collaboration

ROLE TYPE

This position will be a 40 hours per week Independent Contractor/ Private Entrepreneur Contract position for an initial period of 12 months, based in Tirana, Albania. Depending on performance, fit and future programs, this role may also have the potential to be rolled over into a multi-year engagement. Hours of work will be at the Entrepreneur’s discretion (subject to stakeholder/ program requirements).

 

REMOTE WORKING

Until such time as the company opens an office in Tirana, this position will be a hybrid working position, at times requiring work at the contractor’s own home office, and at times working from client sites.

COMPENSATION

This position will be pay market rates, depending on the experience, qualification and skills of the successful candidate.
